During the past eight years, we migrant domestic workers in Lebanon have been organizing and mobilizing on Workers' Day to demand our right to decent working and living conditions. This year, due to workers' day (May 1st) being in the same week as the Lebanese parliamentary elections day (May 6th), we will unfortunately not be able to hold our annual protest then due to the limits imposed on political organizing during elections week according to Lebanese law. However, we will be taking advantage of this event and publishing our take on the current Lebanese elections through a video that will be released on May 1st, so stay tuned!
We will be organizing our annual protest in Beirut for this year on June 17th, 2018, a day after the International Domestic Workers Day.
If you have time, energy, and ideas to contribute with regarding producing the video and/or organizing the protest, please contact us!
